The Fairy’s Kiss

Leaves falling red, brown,  green,  yellow
But they are all the same to you
They think that you’re a strange fellow
So indifferent to time and hue

Your heart lies outside in the rain
Mother Nature washing it clean
But none can take away the pain
The memory of your Fairy Queen

Life is a tale that can’t be told
Yours started in the moonlit woods
In a magical age so old
You, a simple trader of goods

You first thought she was a statue
In the copse, the Moon’s effigy
Outstretched finger beckoning you
To realms beyond reality

She moved with such charm and such grace
Leading the Dance of Night and Rain
You could not keep up with her fast pace
The steps left all your toes in pain

She left you there with a promise
Her vow filled you with vitality
Sealed with a kiss from her cherry lips
You tasted immortality

Life is a tale that’s sometimes sung
You wish that yours was a ditty
Centuries (alone) have passed since you were stung
You now long for simplicity

Forget sorrow and live each day
Let the rain take that away too
The sky won’t always look so grey
And you’ve got a room with a view
